The Tropixs (Kingston, Jamaica) – A popular Dancehall DJ is now before the court after allegedly spitting in the face of a female toll collector at the Portmore Toll Plaza in St Catherine.
The disc jockey, whose real name is Sadiki Kemar Powell, a 35-year- old resident of Bridgeport in St Catherine, has been charged with common assault.
According to police reports, three weeks ago the deejay pulled up to the toll booth and a a argument developed with a him and female toll collector. During the argument the selector allegedly spat in woman’s face.
The matter was reported to the police and an investigation was launched. Powell was subsequently arrested and charged.
The disc jock appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday, September 20, and was fined $5,000, or 10 days in prison. He was also ordered to make an open apology to the victim in court.
