Dancehall producer/recording artiste, Dane Ray, has scored a nomination for the prestigious Prime Minister’s National Youth Award For Excellence, in the category of Arts and Culture.

Dane Ray, given name Waldane Hampton, is best known for producing some of our favourite bangers including Koffee’s “Lockdown”, Rygin King’s “Tuff’ and his various projects for Popcaan.

Dane Ray is one of seven nominees for excellence in Arts and Culture, shortlisted among 67 other Jamaican youth, aged 15-29, across 12 categories.

Fully RayGad joins fellow musicians Koffee, Chronixx, and Romain Virgo, as reggae and dancehall professionals who have previously won a Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence.

The 2020 Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence, under the theme ‘ReThink Youth Ja’ will like many other events this year take place virtually on Sunday, December 13.
