Popcaan

Dave East teams up with Popcaan for the release of his new track “Unruly”, featured on his Karma 3 album.

Karma 3 sees collaborations from a majority of familiar sounding names such as Trey Songz, Mary J.Blige, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Popcaan, Young Dolph, and much more. The mixtape consists of 15 tracks, with “Unruly” sitting at number 2 which caused Popcaan’s fans to poke fun of him, commenting “yyyyy”

For “Unruly” Dave combines an old reggae beat with classic hip hop melody, at least that is what it sounds like. The track certainly emits Caribbean vibe. East himself makes use of some Jamaican slang, which is a nice addition. Share shares the tragic, dark and violent backstory of his childhood on the track, while rapping in his signature quick-pace flow. In the intro of the track, Popcaan says, “Murder, murder, Unruly, Bomboclt dem DNA Ayy, Dave East, what dem a do, mon, yuh fk, trouble, killy”

Popcaan would later sing his chorus, “And when dem see me drippin’ every day, Anywhere you see, me did a later day, Don’t play, bring the chopper anywhere, Dave East make ya girl sing a melody, Tell ’em man a kill it down, kill it down, kill it down,” he deejays.

The Unruly King recently dropped his new album titled, Fixtape which was released on August 6 and has remained at the top position on a number of charts since its release. This new collaboration with East, will further add to his exceptional catalog and strengthen his efforts in breaking out into other international markets.
