Nicki Minaj is a big fan of Vybz Kartel and the rapper proved it once again on her latest album “Queen.”

The “Chun Li” rapper’s new album “Queen” dropped last Friday and she highlighted her Caribbean roots by paying homage to a number of Jamaican artists including Vybz Kartel on the project.

The Trinidadian rapper shouts out the incarcerated Dancehall superstar in the verse of one of her album’s standout tracks, “Coco Chanel,” which also features veteran rapper, Foxy Brown.

In the song’s verse Nicki calls for the deejay to be freed saying “Illest to ever do it, tell’ em fi recognize, Run a Kartel, Dem fi free up Vybz.”

The Young Money rapper also shouted out a number of other Caribbean superstars in the outro of the track including Beenie Man, Mavado, Bounty Killer, Super Cat, Machel Montano, and Reggae legend Bob Marley.

Spice Reacts To Nicki Minaj Mentioning Her Name On “Queen” Album

The standout track has a strong Caribbean feel as it sees the rapper spitting bars in Jamaican patios on a beat which samples the classic 90’s “Showtime” Riddim, which is produced by Dave Kelly.

Nicki Minaj and Vybz Kartel are yet to collaborate on a song, but it is evident that the two have a massive respect for each other. The rapper previously collaborated with other Jamaican superstars such as Gyptian, Mavado and Beenie Man.

Vybz Kartel is currently awaiting a decision from a panel of judges to following his recent appeal case which sought to challenge his life sentence for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
