A man was shot dead and another injured in two separate incidents near the roundabout of the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Desmond Clarke otherwise called ‘Dangles’ of Railway Lane and Bogue addresses in Montego Bay.

According to police reports, Clarke, two other men and a child, were travelling in a Nissan Tiida motorcar along Sunset Boulevard just after 4:00 pm when they stopped at a Cash Pot shop.

A Toyota Yaris pulled up beside them and four men reportedly armed with AK47 rifles alighted and opened fire on the Tiida. Clarke was killed while the other men were injured. The child was not harmed.

However while the police were busy processing the scene of the first shooting, shots were heard near the airport roundabout again. This time at the foot of Queen’s Drive.

It was discovered that a 42-year-old a taxi operator was shot and injured by gunmen around 6:30 pm. The injured man was admitted to hospital.
