Bounty Killer has another bone to pick at with the Government of Jamaica.
Amidst his protest over mining in the Cockpit Country, the veteran Dancehall entertainer is now blasting the authorities over their strict laws on profanity being used at local events.
Speaking on Japan-based sound system Mighty Crown’s set being cut by police at Fully Loaded due the use of curse words, Bounty Killer said only in Jamaica you would find these problems.
“Dancehall is known as adult entertainment world wide so why it’s being compressed in its own country? Only in Jamaica we have this problem,” Killer wrote.
In a follow-up post Bounty Killer, whose given name is Rodney Price, uploaded a poster of a music festival held overseas called “Bomboclat” which featured Busy Signal, Spice, Serani and many others.
“Idiot dunce head bad minded police ? and governments of Jamaica unuh look pon that bloodclaath di BOMBOCLAAT FESTIVAL the word Bumboclaath bigger than di government and di force and what’s the true meaning of bumboclaath though who defines that since it’s not in the dictionary???,” he added.
Under section 9C of The Town and Communities Act in Jamiaca, any person who shall make on any fence, wall or other building, any obscene figure, drawing, painting, or representation, or sing any profane, indecent, or obscene song or ballad, or write or draw any indecent or obscene word, figure, or representation, or use any profane, indecent or obscene language publicly can be subject to a fine not exceeding $1,500 or to imprisonment with or without hard labour, for a period not exceeding thirty days.
