In just a year Shabdon Records has cemented itself as one of the hottest labels in Dancehall.

The production outfit, which consists of two members, Linval ‘Shabba’ Thompson Jr and Carlos Clarke, is responsible for some of the biggest hits in Dancehall currently.

It’s undeniable that the label is possibly the hottest imprint in Dancehall right now churning out his such as “Money Fever,” “Any Weather,” “Henny & Weed,” and countless others.

However, despite their success locally the duo claim their targets are firmly fixated on reaching the international market, with plans for Billboard success on the horizon.

According to Thompson, “We have the golden touch and my song dem a run dancehall right now, not just in Jamaica alone.”

The producer, who is known for working extensively with Dancehall superstar Squash revealed that the label initially began to focus solely on the deejay and his 6ix crew but later expanded its horizons.

“Me and Squash come from Salt Spring in Montego Bay and we grow together, so when him just come out of lock-up, we seh we a go form we own label and push we own music,” the producer said.

Thompson would go on to detail how the label has grown significantly within the last few months, with young and established artiste contacting him daily to work together.

The producer also shared plans for an upcoming album which will feature several Dancehall and Reggae tracks, which he hopes will bring them the international success they crave.
