The Uncle Demon deejay is spending his second weekend in police lock-up at the Freeport Police Station.

Smith says he believes that law enforcement officers are deliberately keeping his client detained, despite not being charged.

“They [the police] told me the final session was this morning at 7:00 am. The question-and-answer session took place…I was advised by the senior officer that: ‘That’s it! The police have no further interest in him’ and that he would be released today [yesterday],” he told The Jamaica Observer.

Smith added that, “They are punishing Mr Russell without just cause.”

The Gothic Dancehall entertainer has been in lock-up in Montego Bay, St James, since Tuesday, July 7 as a person of interest. Tommy Lee Sparta, given name Leroy Russell, was requested to report to the Freeport Police Station in relation to the upsurge in violence in the Flanker community of St James.
