Rygin King has come in for public backlash after his recent photo on Instagram seemingly endorses violence after his shooting.

Dancehall fans called out the Montego Bay-based deejay over the weekend after he shared a photo on IG, which shows him posing with a rifle stance.

Rygin King’s image which he captioned, “Inside”, caused quite a stir on social media as it following his recent shooting.

“Brother I was hoping to see a hand clasp giving praises to the most high for being alive 🤔,” one comment read. “Gesturing a rifle stance after being shot, put it down yute , learn, evolve, grow and remember. Just my thoughts,” another added.

“No dawg nuh that kinda image yo!! Nuh bring deh energy to u man should be giving god thanks daily for life ….. 🙏🏿,” another fan wrote.

The “Tuff” deejay, real name Matthew Smith was shot and injured on Sunday, June 28 after leaving a funeral in Westmoreland.

Reports are that he was travelling in a convoy in Bethel Town when one of the cars was involved in a collision. While repairs were being done another car drove up and a passenger alighted and peppered the bystanders with bullets, including the deejay.

A woman, 28-year-old, Sashalee Blackwood was shot and killed in the incident, while another recording artiste, Goon, was shot in his foot.
