Rae Sremmurd’s new single “Black Beatles” has been catapulted all the way to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to the popularity of the viral Mannequin Challenge on social media.
Black Beatles which is the main single from the Hip Hop duo’s latest studio release, Sremmlife 2, has enjoyed a swift ascendancy in the last couple of weeks, thanks largely to becoming the unofficial track for the viral Mannequin Challenge.
The single which features rapper Gucci Mane, marks the first time the rap duo has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song rose in popularity after being used for the choreographed stillness social media challenge, which started with students from the Jacksonville’s Edward H. White High School.
Black Beatles wasn’t originally used in the original Mannequin Challenge video but quickly became the theme of the social phenom. The rappers got in on the act themselves, by creating their very own Mannequin Challenge video while on stage at a show in Denver.
