Popular Dancehall entertainer Alkaline is making it clear that’s innocent despite spending Thursday night in Police custody.

The 23-year-old “Champion Boy” hit maker, real name Earlan Bartley reported to the Area 4 Headquarters, Harman Barracks in Vineyard Town, Kingston yesterday morning. Alkaline was then transferred to the Criminal Investigation Branch headquarters shortly after midday and has since completed two rounds of questioning as cops continue to probe the murder of Rohan “Head” Morris.

According to Stephanie Lindsay, Head of the Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) the Vendetta deejay will resume questioning Today.

Alkaline’s attorney Peter Champagnie says he is prepared to go to court to press for the release of his client as “He (Alkaline) has professed his innocence to them and as best as he could, gave co-operation in terms of their investigations.”  Champagnie added that Alkaline is very optimistic and looking forward to clear his name.

On Tuesday the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) released a statement saying Alkaline was wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of Morris as cops believe the deejay can assist with the investigation. 28-year-old Morris was shot more than 15 times at his home in Oaks Garden, St Andrew last month allegedly beside his 5-year-old daughter.
