Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel has called out the Jamaican government over its policies to handle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dancehall superstar has compared the Jamaican government’s COVID-19 measure’s to that of slavery.

Kartel recently took to Instagram to re-post a clip of a woman calling out the government’s curfew measures. The post comes just days after Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced tighter curfew hours.

In the post, the woman says, “The curfew a foolinish … Corona nuh walk a day? A daytime everybody bungle up, is a mess in a town. Night time we fi leave the road, why? Corona nuh walk a night?”

Ironically, Vybz Kartel would go on to provide his opinion on the very questions the woman asked.

“Answer: Because the system run by Bakras & Boasty Slaves… Puppets for the western powers … & overall common criminals.” He said, to insinuate that the local government was just following suit to a higher command, the western world (Europe, Northern America and Australasia) and in the process have positioned themselves like common criminals in their own society by holding back the people and restricting their livelihood.”

“When is not limiting access to education, employment, basic stuff like roads electricity & running water, or even our pursuit of wealth, its limiting we very physical movement, disrupting the ppls economic lifeline,” he continued.

The entertainer then summed up his answer saying, “basic domination of the Masses. Slavery 2.0. A traitor dem!”
