VP Records have released an official statement following Spice’s recent social media rant regarding their failure to release her debut album.

The New York-based record label released a statement saying:

“VP Records acknowledges Spice’s recent comments to the media. The label is hard at work finalizing the album and all the necessary clearances. Spice and VP have had great success with “So Mi Like It”, a popular EP release, and numerous hit singles such as Conjugal Visit featuring Vybz Kartel. VP Records looks forward to continuing that trend and to sharing more of Spice’s talent with the world in the form of her new album.”

The response follows the “So Mi Like It” deejay’s outburst on Instagram last week which she warned the distribution company that “I want my album out now, or it’s war.”

According to the Love and Hip Hop reality star, she is determined to get out of her contract with the label as they have been giving her the runaround for the better part of 10 years since she signed with them.

Several other Jamaican artistes including Tanya Stephens, Ding Dong, and Gyptian have also blasted the label in the past for similar reasons.
