An upcoming recording artiste was stabbed to death by taxi operator during a dispute allegedly over JMD $100 in Kingston on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old, France Nooks. The budding entertainer died while undergoing treatment after he ran to the Andrews Memorial Hospital following the incident.

According to reports, Nooks was stabbed by a taxi driver while he was heading to the Bob Marley birthday celebration on Hope Road after they started arguing over an additional $100 that was added to the fare.

Nooks told his aunt, Margo Douglas, what happened just moments before he passed, “Auntie a put me a put down the money, enuh, and feel one sharp pain ina me chest’. Is a good ting me hold on to his hand or the knife would a go farer,” Douglas recounted. “He told me that he was asking him [the driver] why he would raise the fare from a $100 to $200. He also said he asked why he didn’t let him know that before he entered the cab.”

Nooks who is the nephew of artiste manager, booking agent Sharon Burke, had just left her office before his untimely death. The artiste recently secured a contract in Europe and was in the process of shooting a music video and applying for his visa.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
