Jamaicans are furious with Miss Universe pageant organizers after Davina Bennett wasn’t given the crown on Sunday night.

Bennett was declared the second runner-up after a stellar performance. Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters representing South Africa was crowned Miss Universe 2017 with Laura Gonzalez from Colombia named the first runner-up.

Shortly after the announcement, social media users who voted for 23-year-old Clarendon native once again believed that Jamaica was robbed.

“Dem rob you!!!! But you did us proud [Davina Bennett] Thank you for representing us well on the global platform,” Dancehall artist Tifa wrote.

Popular disc jock, ZJ Sparks added, “[Davina Bennett] Girl ah you WIN!! Ah chroo dem know say any how did yuh get di crown bleach woulda tap sell ah town and hair woulda tap relax. Ongle rubbinz weh woulda gwaan a di coconut oil inna di hair and pan di skin AH YOU STILL WIN!!! #naturalista.”

“Kmt she was robbed ! Miss Universe s**k oonu madda ???,” another user wrote, while others chimed in saying, “Not please at all a she did fi win”, “She got robbed!!!.”
