Ishawna is finally opening up about the social media beef with her stylist, Neko Kelly over the weekend.
On Saturday night, the former Downsound Records artist sent Dancehall fans into a frenzy when she took to her Instagram account to blast Neko for allegedly claiming she took free clothes from local stores.
“Neko yuh bright nuh bloodclaat!!! When me ever ask yuh fi ask Dash or any other clothing store for free clothes??,” Ishawna questioned in one post. “Anybody weh know me know for a fact that i always pay for my sh*t cause i don’t do shoutouts on my page.”
Ishawna later took to Twitter on Sunday, to share what started the beef. Read Ishawna’s tweets below;
“Everybody keep messaging me saying all of this is beneath me but to be honest I’m human just like everybody else. Just because I’m an entertainer doesn’t mean I should accept all that’s thrown at me,” she wrote.
“I spend thousands of US dollars on each of my performance pieces….everybody around me knows this! I don’t play when it comes to my image! I never NEEDED to ask anyone for help with my image but i decided to pay someone to make my life lil easier…”
“From this person start style mi neva BINGO pon a stage YET!!!! Last year I decided to stop letting him style me for my shows & let him stick to shoots & interviews,” Ishawna continued.
“Since February I park him when he tried to charge me $120,000 dollars for styling me for a photo shoot! I got turned off cause how u leave from $45,000 to $120,000? But u start realizing how much money I make and u see that I don’t watch price when I need shit done so u tried it!”
“That just showed me the type of person u are so I parked u. The only reason I used u a few weeks ago is because I needed a stylist for a last minute shoot so I recommend my management to contact you for my Festive Tuesdays shoot! You charged $55,000 and u were paid in FULL!”
“The problem I have is I heard him telling a store owner that I was begging him to ask dem for free clothes and he how much he had to tell me no cause I don’t want to tag them on my page. I heard it with my own too ears when he accidentally uploaded it to his insta story!”
“Which he deleted quickly when I brought it to his attention. Apparently the store owner had his phone and was videoing inside the store and posting it to his insta story without his knowledge and his voice was caught in the video talking about me, that’s how I heard.”
“This isn’t no he say she say bullshit! I just needed address the issue cause who knows how many other store owners him give this impression! But that’s silly on his part cause everybody kno ISHAWNA nuh walk and beg free clothes in return for Instagram tags!”
“I had to clear that up, cause next thing he style me in something and these store owners think I owe dem Instagram promo cause I got their stuff for free! I have to protect my brand. No store can’t get mi fi do promo in exchange for free clothes cuz I’m not that cheap.”
“If u ever see me tag a store or hair company in the past better believe that it was one of my friends and I’m endorsing their business. Other than that, the few times he pressure mi like cow foot to tag a store and I gave in just cuz he kept begging me to do it.”
“Everybody knows that I never ever address shit but this one did have to get addressed! I don’t care about rumors and all them other he say she say bullshit cause all that shit is irrelevant.”
“And mi nah stop chat bout it till mi ready fi stop! I might even do a Instagram live addressing everything! Cause wen u make up shit to try look like a victim please come with facts and not lies and made up stories!!! Mi have time today cause i don’t have studio till 6pm.”
