Vybz Kartel

An investigation has been launched following claims Vybz Kartel went live on Instagram.

Commissioner of Corrections, retired Lt. Col. Gary Rowe says an investigation has been launched and search is now underway of the cell occupied by Dancehall Entertainer, Vybz Kartel.

It’s being alleged by some social media users that Kartel went live on Instagram last night.

According to Rowe, they are aware of the allegations and they are looking into the matter.

“A search is underway, but even outside of that an investigation will follow as to the truth of the matter,” Rowe said.

“What I would like to say is it was brought to my attention this morning. Based on that, I believe certain actions were necessary, one of which would be an immediate search to see if, in fact, an instrument is where its alleged to be.”

On Thursday Vybz Kartel sent the internet into a frenzy after he allegedly joined producer Rvssian on Instagram Live. In a new viral clip, the producer seemingly added the incarcerated superstar to his Live with over 4000 fans watching.

Although the entertainer was never visibly seen, fans were treated to an acapella rendition of his hit “Tun Up The Scheme.” The broadcast was soon ended with the deejay’s signature laugh and a statement of “I’m Out.”

For years fans have speculated whether the deejay was in fact in control of his social media accounts. However, the deejay’s camp has often denied that he has any direct access to any of his social platforms.

Since the investigation announcement, several fans have flocked to social media to share their opinion.

“Wish yall would respond this fast with his appeal verdict #freeworlboss” one fan declared, while another said, “Bredda no face no case.”

Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
