Larry Nassar, former Michigan State University and USA gymnastics team physician has officially received his sentencing for sexually abusing over 160 women and girls.

The allegations for his crimes started back in 2016, and as of today, Nassar will start off spending 40 years in prison, but the sentence can go up to 175 years.

Multiple victims delivered very emotional testimonies during the hearing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“My vagina was sore during my competition because of this man. How disgusting is that to even say out loud?” said gymnast, Amy Labadie.

According to the NY Times, many of his victims were minors, and were even as young as 6-years old when he began to sexually abuse them.

Michigan State University’s President, Lou Anna Simon failed to report the allegations of the victims, and is now being called to resign from her presidency. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nassar’s sentence was part of a plea deal which led to Nassar pleading guilty to 10 sexual assault charges, which include child pornography crimes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“There are no words that can express the depth and breadth of how sorry I am,” said Nassar in an apology to his victims. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Judge Rosemarie Aquilina who issued Nassar’s sentencing told Nassar, “I just signed your death warrant.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀
