Incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has donated JM$200,000 to a 2-year-old boy battling cancer.
Vybz Kartel is may be serving a life sentence but that has not hampered his charitable ways. The deejay is rightfully earning plaudits after donating a significant sum to a 2-year-old boy battling stage 4 cancer.
The child’s health issues were first highlighted on Dj Lava’s popular Chat & Live show on Instagram. During the program, Lava shed light on little Rajive Sievwright’s condition while asking for help.
Back in December revealed that Rajive was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a fast-spreading cancer. Earlier this week, the popular disc jock urged fans to donate as the child’s cancer had further deteriorated.
When Vybz Kartel heard about the child’s situation he immediately jumped on board with a $200,000 donation.
The “Fever” deejay is of course no stranger to charitable causes, frequently donating to those in need. Last year, he also contributed to the family of the late Jodian Fearon, who died after being denied admission to hospitals while in labor.
The move has since attracted widespread praise from fans who have commended the charitable act.
“Love to see it! Each one, help one! Big up worldboss!!!❤” one fan commented. Another fan would go on to question, “Why Dem Nuh Highlight Dis🙄 Dawq Deh Behind Bars A Do These Good Things And Nth??”
Sources close to the Gaza camp say this is nothing new, as Kartel has been helping many fans. “What a lot of people don’t know is this is something Kartel does regularly. He just don’t publicized it because its not for clout. There are still kids that Worl’Boss sending to school right now that are not his kids.”
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. He will have to serve a minimum of 35 years before being deemed eligible for parole.
