Reggae group Morgan Heritage will be featured on the soundtrack for upcoming film Coming 2 America.

Morgan Heritage’s “Hallelujah,” which features Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz will appear on the film’s soundtrack. The project will be titled Rhythms of Zamunda: Music Inspired by Coming 2 America.

The soundtrack will feature 16 tracks from artistes across the African diaspora. Some of the other confirmed acts include South African artiste Nasty C and the late DJ Arafat from the Ivory Coast.

The soundtrack will be officially released on March 5, co-coinciding with the film’s release date. It will be distributed by Def Jam Records in conjunction with Def Jam Africa.

Interestingly, the track, “Hallelujah” has actually been banned in Tanzania despite immense popularity.

Since it’s release in 2017 it has racked up over 12 million views on YouTube. However, the track been branded as blasphemous by Tanzanian authorities who claim it promotes indecency.

Coming 2 America is the sequel to Eddie Murphy’s hit 1988 comedy classic Coming To America. The film will feature several familiar faces as well as new additions such as Wesley Snipes and singer Rotimi.
