Dancehall singjay Projexx has signed a major deal with Warner Records.

Warner Records Inc. (formerly Warner Bros. Records Inc.) is an American record label owned by Warner Music Group and headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1958 as the recorded music division of the American film studio Warner Bros., and was one of a group of labels owned and operated by larger parent corporations for much of its existence.

Projexx is the third Jamaican to have been affiliated with the label. The Unruly Boss Popcaan is signed to Warner Records through a deal with OVO Sound. In the 1990s, singer Mr Easy was signed to Warner Records affiliate Qwest Records.

The fast-rising deejay joins big acts such as Madonna, Prince, Cher, Dua Lipa, Tevin Campbell, Bette Midler, Ed Sheeran, PartyNextDoor, and rock group Red Hot Chilli Peppers who are also signed to the label.

Projexx is best known for songs such as Rise Man a Rise, Do It Everyday, Vivid, Protection and many more. The 21-year-old is the son of music producer Lloyd “John John” James and grandson of Lloyd “King Jammy” James, arguably one of dancehall’s most influential producers. His uncles, Trevor “Baby G” James and Jammy “Jam 2” James, are also music producers.

Projexx is featured on Afrobeats singer, songwriter WizKid’s new album “Made in Lagos” on a track titled “True Love” with Nigerian artiste Tay Iwar.
