Buju Banton is hoping to make up for lost time with his new album.

Buju Banton has promised fans to make up for lost time with his upcoming album “Upside Down.”

The Reggae superstar intends to make up for his 10-year absence from music by giving fans a special project.

“This album comprises of 20 tracks. Why? Because it’s 2020 … and another reason, after a 10-year absence, we try to give the people some music for that missing time,” he declared.

According to Buju’s co-manager, Donovan Germain, the album will have a mixture of sounds and something for everyone. It will be the singer’s first project since “Before The Dawn,” which was released in 2010.

“It is an album that is geared towards the various parts of the audience that loves Buju … dancehall, lovers’ rock, cultural aspects. Because of the fact that Buju has been away for 10 years, we try and give each section of the audience a little something for themself,” said Germain.

The album is set to be released in April and will be distributed by the singer’s new label Roc Nation. It will be Buju’s first project since serving a 10-year prison sentence in the United States.

Since the announcement, many fans have flocked to social media voicing their anticipation for the project.

Entertainer Nadine Sutherland, who considers herself a “big Buju fan”, says she can’t wait to hear the new album.

“I respect Buju’s growth as an artiste, his musicality … there are so many different aspects and dimensions to his music … he has so many different layers as an artiste. So I can’t wait now in terms of what to hear,” said Sutherland.
