Zj Sparks is set to take legal action against a online website after becoming a victim of copyright infringement.

The popular female radio personality says she intends to take legal action against Spreadshirt, com after she discovered that the website had been selling merchandise with her image without her consent.

According to the disc jock, the website has various products ranging from shirts, hoodies, cups, phone cases and baby clothing all bearing her image. She says the owners were profiting greatly from the use of her image selling the merchandise for prices ranged from US$23 up to US$50.

The entertainer, whose real name is Trisha Spence, says she only made the surprising discovery after a friend contacted her asking her if she knew about the business venture and sent her several photos of the products.

The merchandise bearing the Jamaican’s image were all branded as “Hot Seller Reggae” on the website, and were credited to a United States designer, who goes by the moniker Nerdsbyleo.

Despite not being opposed to the idea of granting a license to interested collaborators, the dis jock maintains that she was never contacted and that her likeness was being used illegally.

Zj Sparks says she would now be leaving the issue to her legal representatives, who she says will take the necessary steps to protect her brand.
