Jamaican Centurian Violet Brown, who is recognised as the world’s oldest person, has been snatched up from her Duanvale, Trelawny home by family members who claim she has not been receiving the best care.

The 117-year-old woman is now at the centre of a family tug-of-war, which has resulted in her being whisked away under the instructions of her son Barry Russell, who claims the Centurian was not receiving proper treatment from her grandchildren.

Family members have expressed great concern as they say Brown has not been seen since last Saturday after she was taken for a medical appointment.

Brown was reportedly taken away from her home by Karen Samuels, who acted on the behalf of her son, who instructed that she be taken to an undisclosed location where she would receive better treatment.

According to Russell, his mother’s grandchildren did not have her best interest at heart and accused them of being greedy and uncaring.

However, Lelieth Palmer, the daughter of Moss Brown’s son, Harland Fairweather has disputed these claims, saying that she was only taken away due to a family dispute following her father’s death as to who should care for her.
