Masicka

Masicka is definitely in ‘Top Form’ as he appeared on Fox 5 for a candid interview on Thursday.

The Dancehall entertainer visited the New York set to speak about dancehall music growing outside Jamaica and its impact in the United States.

“In Jamaica the music is definitely more of a traditional thing like if you grew up in a community like Kingston, I am from Portmore, so all of us would have come on the block and play music and listen to music,” the Genahsyde deejay said. “Music is something that born in us and it’s a huge part of my living… The communities in Jamaica have a strong love for music.”

Masicka also paid homage to the late King of Reggae Bob Marley for paving the way not just for roots reggae artistes, but also hardcore dancehall acts like himself, “Bob Marley has bridged the gap for us dancehall artists to come and even venture outside of Jamaica so big up Bob Marley always, one love,” he added.

Masicka also touched on how artistes like incarcerated superstar Vybz Kartel influenced his career.

Masicka’s Fox5 New York appearance comes weeks after Vendetta deejay Alkaline performed on the U.S. television station.
