Former Miss Jamaica Universe winner Shakira Martin has died following complications from her lifelong battle with sickle cell.
The 30-year-old beauty queen’s death was confirmed by her mother Andrea Hall in a Facebook post.
She reportedly died in a Florida hospital on Tuesday night after suffering complications from sickle cell blood clots to both lungs.
Martin who was the 2011 winner of the Miss Jamaica Universe had recently been placed on life support after a lifelong battle with sickle cell anaemia.
