Vybz Kartel’s family celebrated his 45th birthday in fine style last night.
Despite his absence, the incarcerated deejay’s family ensured his birthday was still fit for a king.
Fans were given a front-row seat as his wife Tanesha ‘Shorty’ shared the festivities via Instagram Live.
The white and gold theme celebrations featured two birthday cakes; one was a globe sporting a crown. However, the main cake was the highlight, featuring the cover to Kartel’s freshly released Dancehall Royalty album.
The royal atmosphere was on full display, with gold cupcakes, and an endless supply Moët & Chandon. The musical ambiance for the night of course featured a strictly Addi’ playlist.
“Big up mi nice clean babyfather,” said Johnson. “Happy birthday, I love you.”
Despite his absence, Kartel must have felt the love, with Johnson rocking a polo shirt with the words “Happy Birthday My Strong Man” while his three sons wore shirts with “Happy Birthday Dad” engraved.
The festivities also saw the appearance of several other members of the family including his mother Teresa Palmer. Likkle Vybz’s girlfriend and Youtuber Britney Hearne was also present, hosting a Live of her own.
However, the family festivities was not the only notable virtual party for the Worl Boss on the night. Popular New York based selector, DJ Lava, also hosted a tribute which saw a host of guests, including Johnson as they cut his cake.
Frequent Gaza collaborator Spice also joined the Live, declaring “Fully Gaza, Gaza for life, free World Boss.”
“Big up Vybz Kartel, one king, one don, the GOAT,” she said. “It’s also my sister’s birthday so mi haffi big up mi likkle sister Fenise, she and Vybz Kartel born pon di same day… Mi sister just get a ring pon her birthday pon Kartel day so it’s a big day in Jamaica,” she continued.
Vybz Kartel celebrated his milestone birthday with the release of his latest album, Dancehall Royalty. He is currently serving a life sentence for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
