Vybz Kartel Drops Emotional “To Tanesha” Album

Vybz Kartel is showing bearing his feeling on his latest album.

On Thursday the Dancehall superstar dropped his highly anticipated new project, “To Tanesha.”

The album, which is an emotional tribute to his common-law wife Tanesha Johnson, better known as Shorty. It sees the deejay emotional details of their near two-decade relationship.

Throughout the project, Kartel expresses his feelings about the fallout of their relationship.

News of the couple’s split was confirmed by Kartel in 2016 when he took to Instagram saying, “ME AND MI BABY MOTHER SHORTY) NO LONGER TOGETHER. YOU HEAR IT YASO FIRST.”

Last year Sikka Rymes also hinted that they were no longer together when he said: “Everything was good when Vybz Kartel was at the road but from him get lock up certain things change.”

Vybz Kartel and Sikka Rhymes address the topic in their collaboration “Delusional,” which is featured on the album.

The topic of betrayal is re-enforced throughout the album. It is most evident in standout tracks such as “MoreThan You Recieve,” and “Then You.. and Me.”

Since its release, the 10-track album has received praise from fans and critics alike for its emotional depth. The album currently sits at No.3 on the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B charts.

Some of the featured artistes who appear on the project are; Jesse Royal, Jada Kingdom, Jodi Couture, Slimatic, and this two sons, Likkle Addi and Likkle Vybz.
