The police high command has announced a strict schedule in which businesses will be permitted to operate during the declared state of emergency in St James over the next few days.
The following are the closing hours that are applicable to businesses in St James:
* Community recreational areas by 6:00 p.m.
* Cook shops, dry goods and haberdasheries by 7:00 p.m.
* Spirit licence premises by 9:00 p.m.
* Service (petrol) stations by 10:00 p.m.
* Clubs and fast food outlets by midnight

According to the security forces, the temporary adjustment to the operating hours of businesses within the parish was necessary to ensure public safety during the current state of public emergency.
Cops have warned the public and business owners to comply with the stated restrictions for the duration of the declared state of emergency of they may face the possibility of prosecution.
An assurance was also given by the police high command ensuring citizens that their human rights would be protected throughout the initiative as they seek to restore law and order to the parish of St James.
