Ninjaman is considering to get his recent murder conviction overturned, however the ultimate decision will defend heavily on the outcome of Vybz Kartel’s upcoming appeal trial.
Back in November, the veteran dancehall artiste was found guilty of a murder committed eight years ago sparked by a domestic dispute.
According to sources close to Ninjaman, he is considering filing an appeal for a new trial however his legal team is weighing their options and will be observing Vybz Kartel’s appeal trial in July.
Ninjaman is represented by Valerie Neita-Robertson who is also one of the lawyers on Vybz Kartel’s case. “Being that they are two high profile artistes, the system will want to keep them locked up to send a message,” sources said.

Vybz Kartel’s legal team were the ones who asked the appeal court judge for more time to prepare for the case. According to Dancehall insiders, Ninjaman’s trial played a role in the decision as lawyers believed that the case was too close to the appeal trial and would be too fresh in the judges minds.
