Popular comedian Majah Hype has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and battery in Cobb County, Georgia.

The comedian, whose real name is Joseph Nigel Theron, was detained on Thursday night on felony kidnapping charges, one count of simple battery, which is a misdemeanor, and felony terroristic threats.

A copy of the charge sheet was released online yesterday revealing details of the comedian’s booking. The document also shows that Theron was actually born in New York and not the Caribbean as he frequently claims.

Majah Hype remains in police custody, while his bail bond has been set at $16,720. Interestingly the document describes Theron as having several tattoos including one with his ex, Kirby’s name.

The alleged victim in the case is Majah Hype’s ex-fiance Kirby, who had accused the star of abuse. The two were recently involved in a nasty split, which saw allegations of abuse and cheating throughout the relationship.

Fans have since taken to social media to voice their opinions on the matter, with mixed reactions.

“K so can we talk about why he has a tattoo of “kirby” on him?? #gyalclown 😂” one fan joked. “Im just glad he’s not Jamaican cause wi caah tek nuh more bad name!!,” another fan added.
