Therra Gwyn Jaramillo of Atlanta, Georgia was on the verge of an emotional breakdown from dealing with the loss of her husband to brain cancer in 2014, which led to her struggling to make ends meet, to care for her four rescue dogs, two rescue cats, and her elderly blind chicken.

After receiving a $250 gift card from a friend to assist her, Jaramillo went to Whole Foods in the Atlanta area to do some grocery shopping.

While in line the Atlanta woman realized some of her groceries were mixed in with a “handsome gentleman” in front of her. What she didn’t realize was that the gentleman in front of her was Atlanta native, Ludacris.

“Whoa,” she said to the cashier. “Oh no, sorry, that’s mine. So sorry.” As they sorted out the discrepancy, the man suddenly said, “I might as well get it.”

According to CNN, Jaramillo tried to stop the cashier from scanning the items, realizing the $250 gift card wasn’t going to be enough. That’s when Ludacris told the cashier, “I got this.”

Jaramillo couldn’t believe what was happening before her eyes. “I stared wide-eyed at this handsome young African-American man, this stranger as if he’d just dropped through the ceiling like a black James Bond,” she said on Facebook.

Ludacris introduced himself to the woman as Chris, not knowing who he really was. It wasn’t until the “handsome gentleman” left that the cashier told her who he really was.

Jaramillo posted to her Facebook, “You never know a stranger’s full story when you reach out a hand and yank them into a better place.”
