Popcaan and Ding Dong and his Ravers Clavers dance crew were the biggest winners at the Your View Awards (YVAs) held at the National Indoor Sports Centre in St Andrew, Jamaica over the weekend.

The ‘Unruly Boss’ won four awards; ‘Favourite Caribbean Artiste of The Year’, ‘Favourite Local International Artiste of The Year’, ‘Favourite Male Local Artiste of The Year’, and ‘Favourite Music Collaboration’ for his smash hit ‘We Pray’ with Dre Island.

Meanwhile, Dancer-turn-recording artiste Ding Dong won the award for ‘Favourite Male Dancer of The Year’. His Ravers Clavers dance crew secured ‘Favourite Dance Group’. Desha Ravers won ‘Favourite Female Dancer of the Year’, and Kool Ravers won an award for ‘Favourite Dance Move’ for ‘Fling Yuh Shoulders’.

Chronixx and Spice each received two awards. The Reggae superstar won awards for ‘Favourite Local Chart-Topping Song of the Year’ with ‘Likes’ and Favourite ‘Local Album of The Year’ for his Grammy-nominated project ‘Chronology’.

The ‘Queen of Dancehall’ was awarded ‘Favourite Female Local Artiste of The Year’ and ‘Favourite Local Music Video Concept’ for ‘Sheets’.

Once again, despite leading with seven nominations, Alkaline was the biggest loser at the annual awards show after only being able to secure ‘Favourite Dancehall Artiste of The Year’.

4th Genna deejay Aidonia also collected one award for ‘Hottest Summer Song’ with ‘Yeah Yeah’ and the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.
