Canadian Rapper Drake released his highly anticipated ‘More Life’ playlist on Saturday, with songs like ‘Gyalchester’ and ‘Portland’ it doesn’t come as a surprise that the 22-track project was inspired by Jamaica’s rich culture.
Produced by Noah “40” Shebib, the playlist was released by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, and Republic Records. ‘More Life’ borrows it’s name from a Jamaican slang phrase meaning “to wish someone well,” which was popularized by dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel.

Last year the OVO Rapper revealed that the incarcerated ‘Fever’ deejay was his inspiration during a candid interview with Nardwuar.
“Free up World Boss, Addi Mi Daddy,” Drizzy said. “Vybz Kartel is one of my biggest inspirations like one of my favourite artistes,” he added. “You want to talk about a guy that is coming out of somewhere or who is coming out of a place that has their own thing, their own culture and absolutely just taking over to becoming the one person to idolize.” He said.
