Hot97’s Ebro Says Drake & Ed Sheeran ‘Bringing Back Dancehall’

Hot97’s Ebro Darden came under fire from Dancehall fans on Tuesday after the Radio presenter claims Canadian Rapper Drake and English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran are bringing back Dancehall.

“1st Drake… now Ed Sheeran bringing dancehall back!!,” Ebro wrote on Twitter which angered Jamaicans and Dancehall lovers. Many have since flocked his Instagram account to express their discontent with his statement.

Drake had one of the biggest dancehall records last year with ‘One Dance,’ he also teamed up with Bajan Pop star Rihanna for ‘Work,’ another banger influence by the genre. Ed Sheeran’s new hit single ‘Shape Of You’ is also considered as a Dancehall track.
