Bobby Brown has revealed that the 2012 death of his ex-wife, pop star Whitney Houston, may not have been due to drugs at all.

The “Don’t Be Cruel” singer told Rolling Stone that the singing icon was serious about maintaining a sober lifestyle before her death, which leads him to believe that drugs may not have been the main cause of her sudden death.

Brown revealed this information when asked what was the most misunderstood thing about Houston to which Brown replied, “I don’t think she died from drugs.”

“She was really working hard on herself to try to be a sober person and, um [_pauses_] she was a great woman.”

Brown’s wife and manager, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, interjected into the discussion, noting that drugs were found in Houston’s system, where Brown then responded, “Well, I don’t think so.”

Brown says he believes Houston’s main cause death emotional pain and trauma that developed into health problems.
