Stig Da Artist is currently one of the biggest names coming out of the Belizean Music Industry. Known for being one of the leading lyricists in the country, he is loved and is famous for the catchy hooks and melodies throughout his more mainstream songs. “Moving On” was written and recorded in 2016 based on real life circumstances.

Stig da Artist said, “I went through a rough patch and did the only thing I know how to do, which is to vent through music. I had started seeing a girl who had similar physical features to a previous girl I had dated, one who had broken my heart and taken me for granted. It felt almost like déjà vu. Hence, the motivation for making this song, was to advise this new girl not to take my love for granted in the future, otherwise I wouldn’t stick around. In the song, I am hoping that things don’t eventually go downhill because the relationship feels to be exactly what I had been looking for all along.

The production came along as Stig and Dj Perf were beginning to work on some new music together. Stig had sent Perf some vocals to a song he had had in mind. While on a flight, Perf made the beat around the vocals and that’s the song you guys hear today. The beat is a dancehall blend of melodies and smooth percussions, which adds an international vibe to the project. Perf, who is known for his assorted styles of beats across dancehall, is finding his unique sound, while establishing Stig’s sound as well. The musical chemistry between Perf and Stig is evident in the projects they are putting out.

The video was shot in the Cayo and Stan Creek Districts of Belize. Scenes feature Stig and Kerlin Garcia (The Model) at the top of a hill on the Hummingbird Highway, overlooking the great wonders of the area, Stig alone looking down at the busy streets of San Ignacio Town, Cayo, and a shopping scene shot on the famous Burn’s Avenue in San Ignacio.

Stig is hoping to break out of Belize with this single and attract the attention of international eyes. As he is gearing up to release new music and videos, he is consistently showing that he has what it takes to become a star and put Belize on the map.
