Queen Ifricka says radio stations were instructed not to play her 2009 controversial hit single ‘Daddy.’
According to the Reggae singer, the song which helped to spread awareness on the taboo topic of child abuse in Jamaican homes was benched due to fact that it offended the wrong people.
The Rastafarian entertainer infamously made the claims during her live performance at Rebel Salute on Sunday morning, a claim which Broadcasting Commission boss Cordel Green quickly denied.
According to the Broadcasting Commission Executive Chief, the song was never banned, and no special instructions were ever issued to media houses.
Queen Ifricka however recently at Green’s statements claiming that the song was in fact sidelined and that she believes it was due to it highlighting a prominent issue which plagues ‘uptown’ culture.
“From the song came out it ban… I heard the Broadcasting Commission say they beg to differ on it, but until someone can prove otherwise…,” said the entertainer.
