Vybz Kartel, Shatta Wale King’s of Africa aims for Billboard success Again!! With ” Island ” Single

The new year has started off with a bang, with YGF Records releasing a sizzling new Dancehall track titled Island, which features Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

Released to the artiste’s YouTube page on January 1st, it will be available on all platforms on January 11 for purchase.

The high energy dance track has been receiving rave reviews so far, including major kudos from Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel. The beat was produced by Ridwaan Razak from New York.

2018 was a busy year for YGF Records and quite a successful one at that. One of the greatest achievements was Shatta Wale’s Reign  album peaking at the number 6 spot on the Billboard World Chart. Which YGF Records co produced on.
Their The Way I Move collaboration with Shatta Wale and Shenseea also did numbers, gaining over two million streams online. That track was featured on the Growth EP, which boasted an array of other collaborations with acts such as Vershon, Govana, Deep Jahi, Nesta and Jahvillani. With other tracks such as Economy, Cyaa Stop Me and Fool Is The Last To Know, that project made waves across the Caribbean and was also a hit in African countries such as Ghana and Zimbabwe.

2019 is slated to be no different and continued collaborations between Shatta Wale and YGF Records can be expected.

“My expectations for this track is to take it beyond what I achieved in 2018,” said Tevin. Speaking of his 2019 goals, he said, “I’m always aiming to climb higher on the Billboard charts and also to get more streaming.” A music video for the track is in the works.

Fans can expect new music from Shatta Wale , with an upcoming track titled Deliver Me. Also, expect collaborations with Dancehall artiste 9TYZ as well, on the upcoming Black Diamond EP. More music with other  acts such as Charly Blacks, Vershon, Deep Jahi, Jahvillani , Crazy Star,  Rhumba, Ratt-Trapp & Singer J, among others, is expected to be released soon.

For Shatta Wale, he is looking forward to the new year and continued growth.

“I’m still learning always, especially from “Di Teacha”, Vybz Kartel,” he said.
