Vybz Kartel & Popcaan Reacts To Sheba’s Royalty Claims

Vybz Kartel and Popcaan have sought to address Sheba’s recent claims of not getting any royalties for her collaborations.

Gaza Sheba and Vybz Kartel produced a slew of hits including “Like Christmas” and “You and Him Deh”, however according to her she was not compensated.

The recording artiste, real name Tasheba Campbel made the revelation last week during an Instagram Live video session.

“Mi a di first person weh can seh f__k off to royalty cause everybody else mi see benefit from it and mi nuh see one f__k,” Sheba said during the LIVE.

Vybz Kartel seemingly caught wind of Sheba’s comment and took to his Instagram story and wrote, “Mi nuh want no bwoy or gyal inna mi d.m. a tell mi abut dem a look ah bus. Suck unuh mada & go wul a taxi. Kill mi want kill unuh Ungrateful p___y.” He added: “Sorry fi mongrel dog.”

Sheba has since tried to retract her statement saying she did not specifically mean Kartel and that she was targeting the music business in Jamaica, however the damage was already done causing Kartel to be furious.

According to Sheba, since joining BMI and Jack Russell Music in 2012, she has never received any royalties.

“From mi join BMI and Jack Russell Music from 2012 I never get a dollar from them yet… One a di agent tell mi seh a mussi Addi collect mi royalties dem dats why mi nah get it… mi nuh know how that go cause fi tell yuh di truth mi nuh understand nothing bout it, so mi just leave it alone,” she said during her recent LIVE video.

However Popcaan also chimed-in on the controversial topic insisting that Sheba isn’t deserving of any royalties, claiming she didn’t write the songs.

“She never wrote a line… wey she expect,” the Unruly Boss wrote in the comment section under an Instagram post.
