Vybz Kartel lands the best-selling Dancehall album of 2016

Incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel ‘King Of The Dancehall’ project was the best-selling Dancehall album of 2016.

‘King of the Dancehall’ which serves as Vybz Kartel’s second studio album since his incarceration has sold over 3,800 units in the United States with 1,867 units sold in the first week of it’s release on June 10, 2016. The 14-track project which was produced by TJ records also earned the biggest first-week sale for a dancehall artiste since Beenie Man’s ‘Undisputed’ album in 2006.

The album which features Kartel’s hit single ‘Fever’ peaked at No.1 on the iTunes Reggae chart in the USA and Italy a day after it’s release and made it’s debut at No.2 on the Billboard Reggae chart a week later.
