Vybz Kartel Appeal: Lawyers Claim Prosecutorial Misconduct During Trial

Vybz Kartel’s defence attorneys accused the state of prosecutorial misconduct during the entertainer’s controversial murder trial.

The defence has argued that the misconduct is centered around the fact that the case was allowed to continue under the advice of the director of public prosecutions Paula Llewellyn, despite bribery claims among the jury.

The assertion was made by Samuels during Monday’s hearing of the high profile appeal case.

Samuels claims Llewellyn erred by ignoring objections of defence attorneys to hang the jury following the controversial allegations, instead opting to advise the presiding Judge to continue with the case and issue the seven-member jury a warning about the oaths.

Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused were convicted in 2014 for the murder of Clive Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew in August 2011.
