Investigators have ruled that the death of a teenage student whose body was discovered two weeks in Portmore, St Catherine, as a murder.
A post-mortem examination reveals that 17-year-old Ariell Lawrence died as a result of being shot twice in the head.
The teen went missing some two weeks ago after she boarded a taxi home to Spanish Town after visiting a friend in Portmore.
During the journey, Lawrence reportedly expressed suspicions of the vehicle to a friend via text message and would later disappear.
Lawrence’s body was discovered shortly after 1:00 a.m., along the roadway in close proximity to the Town Centre Plaza.
Cops say this is only the latest of series of abductions were men have been posing as taxi operators in the Corporate Area.
