The 6ix boss, Squash released the music video for the remix for Skillful which featured Vybz Kartel.
The original audio dropped about a month ago and accumulated over 900k views on YouTube since its release. In the video, Squash was smoking and walking around in a very green space, he also seen driving his Lamborgini, or playing basketball at home.
He states that he is doing better in life, with lyrics like “We ah live a different life, shine bright pon the p***y dem” and “Ghetto yute fi own tings house, car, bike, Benz”. He also tells us how well he is with gun in the track.
“Ah true mi skillful mek mi deh yah right now” was said in the introduction following the lines: “31 in the clip ready fi bite dem like a cobra” and “mi seh mi skillful, roll wid every gun and mi mek sure every clip full”.
Vybz Kartel came into the tune with references to the Bible, “Ah dem same one choose Barabbas ova Jesus” he deejayed. Barrabas was a prisoner who was chosen to be released by the crowd and Pontius Pilate. The other prisoner, Jesus, remained and was, of course, executed.
This may be a reference to his current situation because as we know, the deejay is behind bars. “That’s why mi nuh too trust too much hypocrite and eediat, kill di great man dem, tun dem inna hero”
These lines could be interpreted as Vybz Kartel telling us that the innocent is the one being punished, while those who are guilty don’t face the same fate. It does go with Squash’s lyrics where the 6ix boss states that he believes he is being unfairly treated by people who he has helped who want to harm him.
