Popcaan, Koffee, Buju Banton, Shenseea, Protoje & Lila Iké Nominated For MOBO Awards

Jamaican acts Popcaan, Koffee, Buju Banton, Shenseea, Protoje & Lila Iké have been nominated for 2020 MOBO Awards.

MOBO Awards is making a grand return after a 3 year hiatus, this year’s show will be held on December 9th virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Popcaan, Koffee, Lila Iké, Buju Banton and Protoje vie for the the “Best Reggae Act” award.

While Shenseea, Koffee and Popcaan are nominated in the “Best International Act” category alongside Burna Boy, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Pop Smoke, Roddy Ricch, Rema, Summer Walker, H.E.R and Lil Baby.

Popcaan won the award for Best Reggae Act in 2015 and 2016.

The MOBO Awards is an annual music award presentation honouring achievements in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. The MOBO Organisation was founded by Kanya King in 1996.

The MOBO Awards 2020 will be streamed on YouTube at 7.00PM GMT.

It will be fully broadcasted on BBC One at 10.45PM GMT with a highlights special available on BBC iPlayer on the night.
