Ninja Man Says Prisoners Need Work, Not Conjugal Visits

Ninja Man does not believe conjugal visits will help to rehabilitate convicted felons.

The previously incarcerated Dancehall superstar believes the government’s recent plans to allow conjugal visits in Jamaican correctional facilities is a nice gesture, but will ultimately prove to be an ineffective rehabilitating tool.

According to the outspoken deejay, prisoners need jobs and not sex. He believes providing inmates with job opportunities is a more ideal way of preparing them to reintegrate with society, while at the same time possibly easing the burden on tax payers.

The deejay also pointed out that the government’s suggestion could lead to a number of other problems, including unwanted pregnancies and a rise in single parent families with lack of financial support.

Ninja Man’s statements follows a recent revelation by National Security Minister Robert Montague that the government plans to allow conjugal visits in a effort to “humanize” prisoners and help them reintegrate into society.
