Reggae artist Luciano is shocked and saddened after the death of his mother, Ema Sophia Griffiths – Barnett, affectionately called ‘Mama Sophie.’
Mama Sophie passed away on Saturday August 19, she was 91 years old. The veteran singer dedicated the song ‘Mama’ released in 1996 on his Messenger album to her.
Her passing comes more than a year after his 19-year-old Menelik McClymont, was stabbed to death at Parkington Plaza in St Andrew.
According to sources, Luciano is currently on tour now in Europe however is now in the process of rescheduling his shows in order to get back to his family in Jamaica during this period of bereavement.
