Denroy Morgan Awarded Key To The City Of Brooklyn, New York

Veteran reggae singer Denroy Morgan has received a key to the city of Brooklyn, New York for his contribution to art and culture.

Morgan who is the father of Grammy award winning reggae group Morgan Heritage was awarded last night at the Afro Caribbean event in Wingate Park Brooklyn.

Morgan Heritage also paid homage to the “I’ll Do Anything for You” singer with a special acoustic performance.

“Our father, mentor and teacher Denroy Morgan. Your persistence and perseverance is 2nd to none. Congrats on receiving the Key To The City of #Brooklyn. Love you!,” Heritage wrote on Instagram. “Something long in the making. Many years, many obstacles but God is good. Well deserved honor for a living Legend. We love you Daddy!!! Thank you for all you’ve done for us. The sacrifice and investment.”

Meanwhile, Morgan Heritage kicked off a twenty three city tour across the United States and Canada last week promoting their new album Avrakedabra which features a remake of Jimmy Cliff’s hit single ‘Reggae Night.’
