Lawyers Insist Vybz Kartel Was Not Present When ‘Lizard’s’ Was Murdered

Attorneys representing Vybz Kartel have sought to bore another hole in prosecution’s case by insisting the entertainer could not have been at the alleged crime scene according to evidence presented.

According to deejay’s lawyers, there is no plausible way the entertainer could have been present at the murder scene based upon evidence provided by the prosecution themselves.

Valerie Neita-Robertson, the lead attorney for the entertainer says the wacky timeframe and so-called cellphone evidence presented by the prosecution contradicted their own case.

She argued that the deejay had reported to the Corporate Area hospital at 7:48 p.m. on the day Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams was killed at a house in Havendale, St Andrew. However, police investigators later testified that cellphone tower information placed him at the Havendale house at 7:52 p.m.

According to Neita-Robertson, there is no plausible way entertainer could have been at both locations in that specified timeframe unless he is omnipresent.

The defence argued that the prosecution’s case was further compounded by the fact that the their star witness testified that he arrived at the residence at 8:00 p.m. and that after the events he witnessed at the house, he took Kartel to the hospital close to 9:00 p.m.

Neita-Robertson argued that these contradictions challenge the veracity of cell tower information, which was seen as a key piece of evidence used to help convict the Dancehall superstar.

Vybz Kartel and his co-accused Shawn “Shawn Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John were all convicted for the 2014 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
