Latest On Gully Bop: From The Gully To The Money Now Back To The Gully?

Dancehall artist Gully Bop’s rise in the entertainment industry was a classic tale of ‘from nothing to something,’ but has it all gone full circle for the deejay?

In 2014 the veteran deejay was catapulted to superstardom after a video of him freestyling a track went viral on social media.

The deejay would go on to become one of the hottest names on the Jamaican entertainment scene after racking up several hit singles, including “Body Specialist” and “My God Dem Nuh Bad Like Me.”

Fast forward several years later and it sees the entertainer may have been pegged back to where it all began, as sources have claim he has fallen on some hard times following a series of legal troubles.

Sources also claim the deejay situation has worsened after a domestic dispute which saw him arrested and charged with physically assaulting his wife during a dispute in Nuts River in St Thomas.

Gully Bop Shares Reason For Assaulting Wife

Following his arrest, Gully Bop was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation by a judge after displaying questionable actions during his court appearance.

The deejay was also accused of constantly abusing drugs and alcohol, including cocaine and marijuana.

Gully Bop was quick to deny these claims, calling them outrageous and challenging the court to “go fi di evidence and make it carry yuh which part it see me smoke and buy drugs.”

The entertainer’s case has since been transferred to the Drug Court and the presiding Judge requesting a psychiatric evaluation of the deejay, whose real name is Robert Malcolm.

Gully Bop is next scheduled to appear in court on September 6.
